salaam alaykum sister
i will speak in english and hope you can understand me
i have read your post and will give my humble opinion till the imam replies
fist
i do not belief we were created to seek the mahdi,
i belief we were created to serve God
by uniting under his just laws of compassion,
generosity and truth, and during our search for truth, we will come closer to truth by intuition,
and by sane judgements that are far from arrogance and ego
and since imam mahdi will guide us to truth,
then we will meet him anyways, on our search for truth for the sake of serving Allah
second
i dont think we should belief anything that our parents taught us but instead we must seek the truth and become truth seekers like abraham (as)
third,
since out intention is to find truth we will surely find it one day, so if our parents religion is the true religion then we will get back to it, not by blind faith, but by common sense and by correct intuition also
forth
the scientific comments you wrote, i will not object and i will not support it
my question to you is this:
how trustworthy is science today?
if science is very trust worthy then why does it keep changing?
why do we keep realizing that we were wrong about this and now we think we are right,
then after some years we realize we are wrong again and now we discovered a new scientific discovery that disproves our old findings
for example:
mercury was believed to be the smallest planet in the 70s and that pluto is as big as earth, later they discovered that pluto is smaller than mercury and that they were wrong...
another example:
they invent a certain medication and use it as a cure for a certain disease
then later they discover that there are side effects and that they were wrong so they come up with new medications and say that it is better and more scientifically proven to be trust worthy and effective...sadly after some years they realize they were wrong again and find some new side effect and so try to use science once more to manufacture a new medicine....same story...
last example:
another example: manufacturing errors in cars, planes, machines, electronics....and many others
fifth
the big bang theory, the theory of evolution, the theory of relativity all have 2 things in common: 1. they are just theories, that still are not proven yet but simple ideas
2. they keep changing also, so for example people thought that the earth is flat and later realized that it is round and now they say it is oval
when it fact it could be hollow, just as the atom is hollow, a light bulb, a football....
sixth:
every scientific comment you came up with i can come up with a schientific theory that proves you are wrong, and i can come up with a scientific theory that proces you are right..why? because theories are based on creativity and a bit of logic combined together with some convincing power
seventh:
can you trust NASA? because if NASA represent one of the most advanced scientific organizations in the world it means they can not be wrong when they claim a certain piece of knowledge...yet they lost so many astronauts in space during the launching of challenger, which means they do make mistakes and sometimes deadly mistakes...not to mention their wrong vieuw about pluto s size in the 70s and many many other errors they made, mostly unintentionaly perhaps some intentionaly...so how can some people claim that they can not be wrong about the tenth planet and that they would never deny it on purpose or by mistake?
eighth:
why do people not modify the poetry of william shakespear and why are the old arab poems taught at schools as they were, why not modify them to make them in line with our modern age? why not repaint the pyramids of giza and the tombs of the old archeological findings?/
the answer is....if we do that, then we will loose experiencing them as they originally were...just as the true bible has lost most of its truth because of the many many versions that were printed later.....so what about the only archeologically in tact book for over 1400 years? is it not strange that there are no 2 different versions of this book? should we modify it or keep it as it is? and does it not reflect something rare in nature, uncorrupted and untouched for over 1400 years and most important....unchanged.....unlike scientific discoveries that keep changing.....
do not misunderstand me, i am not against science, i just dont think that science can be compared with divine knowledge...
wal salaam alaykum
